Incentive Grants for New Jewish Families, Mandarin Instruction, and New 4-Keystone Star Status Lead the List of New Initiatives
ELKINS PARK, PA March 7, 2014 - Early Learning at Beth Sholom Congregation is welcoming spring with big news for Jewish families. In an unprecedented opportunity, Jewish families who are new to Beth Sholom Congregation and to Early Learning at Beth Sholom will be eligible for incentive tuition grants of up to $4,000 per child, per year. These unique grants have been provided through the generosity of Stefan and Elizabeth Brodie, as part of an initiative to strengthen and renew the Beth Sholom Congregation community.
Preschool families will also have new programming to look forward to including a first for the region: Mandarin instruction in addition to Hebrew. Students aged 3 - 5 will be able to start preparing to be citizens of the world with language instruction at age-appropriate levels.
Early Learning at Beth Sholom is also unique in offering two educational track options to its families - a traditional preschool approach, as well as a Montessori experience. This Fall, the preschool will also elevate its status within the American Montessori Society by maintaining a full staff of Montessori credentialed teachers. Beth Sholom Congregation is proud to be the only local Jewish Montessori program and one of only 39 Montessori programs in the country offering Maria Montessori's specialized approach to learning and development in a Jewish context.
All of these opportunities are housed in a preschool that has also just attained 4-Keystone Star status, the highest rating awarded by the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning. Four-Star programs must meet the highest research-based standards for program quality set by the Department of Public Welfare in areas including health and safety, instructor experience, facilities, and much more. Early Learning at Beth Sholom Congregation is very proud to be recognized for its ongoing commitment to providing the best possible care and education to all of its children and families.
