Religious Schools

From Preschool through High School, Beth Sholom offers fine classes, well-planned programs and excellent teachers to enhance our children's knowledge of Hebrew, Bible, Jewish History, Judaism, Jewish ethics for daily living and current events. The Goldman Preschool offers morning and afternoon and extended day classes for children through the age of five. New and extended hours are designed to enable working parents to enroll their young children in Preschool while meeting demanding work schedules.

The Beth Sholom Hebrew High School has a projected enrollment of over 165 students.The program offers a diversified curriculum that fulfills the requirements for further study at Gratz College. The bar/bat mitzvah skills program, which once was separate, is now incorporated into the regular curriculum of the Religious School.

Beth Sholom proudly housed the Forman Hebrew Day School for 13 years before it merged with the Solomon Schechter Day School located on the Mandell Educational Campus.

Beth Sholom also offers outstanding Family Education programs. One example is the Mishpahah program, which is designed to enhance home holiday observance and participation in mitzvot. Our "Parent and Me" program provides ongoing sessions for parents and toddlers, including working and single parents. Other family education programs focus on Shabbat and holiday observance. The Shabbat Family Camp provides an opportunity for families to learn and experience Shabbat in the safety and community of a retreat setting.

PTA links parents to teachers and provides a way for parents to become involved in their children's education. We look forward every year to the Book Fair, to the Shabbat dinners for each class and to all the special treats PTA prepares for our students throughout the school year.

Summer is an extension of our Religious School. We encourage our students to attend Camp Ramah, to travel the United States with USY on Wheels and to go on Pilgrimage to Israel with United Synagogue Youth and Ramah. The Congregation has endowed partial scholarships for those in need of support. For younger children we have a successful Summer Preschool program using our beautiful facilities.
