The Department of Group Services offers an award-winning Youth Department, a pioneering College Program, Special Projects and the Golden Years Resource Service.
The Youth Department maintains a full calendar of activities for four different age groups serving third through twelfth graders in an informal Jewish educational environment that fosters the development of social skills, leadership, tzedakah, social action and fun.
Our College Program, winner of the Solomon Schechter Award, serves over 200 Beth Sholom undergraduates through programming, mailing holiday packages and letters, and arranging home hospitality with members of synagogues near the colleges where our young people are enrolled.
Well loved synagogue-wide programs under the heading of Special Projects include: Simhat Torah Dancing and Treats, the Annual Simhat Torah Luncheon, the Purim Carnival and the Israel Independence Day Parade. These events provide opportunities for beautiful intergenerational experiences.
Golden Years Resource Service is a community-wide program that addresses the specific interests of those fifty-five and older. Its services include a Resource Library, Exercise classes, bridge instruction on several levels and a monthly luncheon and Speaker's Forum.
