Beth Sholom's music program is dynamic, all-encompassing, educational, and social experience for children and adults of all ages under the supervision of Hazzan Tilman, dedicated to teaching Jewish values through the vehicle of Jewish music.
Joseph Myerov Composer-in-Residence After serving as Organist/Choirmaster of the congregation for 44 years, Joseph Myerov became composer-in-residence. In this capacity, he writes original music for both liturgical and secular texts, which are then performed in services and concerts throughout the year. He prepares arrangements and orchestrations of music for use in services and music festivals.
Neil Myerov Organist/Director Neil Myerov attended the New England Conservatory and became the Organist/Director in 1995. Neil appears regularly in recitals and at special programs as soloist, conductor, and accompanist of the Beth Sholom Choirs.
Donna Levin Hazzanut, Cantillation, Jewish Music Instructor, and Show Co-director Donna Levin is a graduate of the Esther Boyer School of Temple University. She sings with the Philadelphia Singers Chorale, frequently appearing with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and she is a member of our congregation’s professional High Holiday choir. Donna teaches Torah reading to the Gimmel and Dalet classes, and Hazzanut to pre-Bar/Bat Mitzvah students. She also assists Hazzan Tilman with the Youth and Adult Choirs.
Dr. Miriam Giguere Show Co-Director and Choreographer Dr. Miriam Giguere is director of the Dance Department of Drexel University. In 2006, she earned her doctorate degree from the Dance Department of Temple University. For several years, she has been Choreographer for our annual show, and became co-director in 2004.
Dr. Debbie Schrager Show Co-director Talented singer and actress, Dr. Schrager has been co-director of our annual show for two years. She has appeared in many roles in our own shows and in other community theater productions.
Eric Schnitzer Associate Music Director of our Show Versatile pianist and keyboard player, Eric has been associate music director of our annual shows for over 15 years. A graduate of Temple University, Eric is an elementary music and computer teacher, accompanist, conductor, and keyboard musician in several ensembles throughout the community.
